Looking to lead a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle? Here are some tips that you can incorporate into your beauty routine!
Cut down on packaging
Beauty items are often packaged in plastic. While it's great to recycle your bottles, containers and jars and alternative is to purchase products that are minimal in waste. Try using beauty bars- you can get soap, shampoo and face cleanser, for example. If those aren't your thing, look for brands that will refill your bottles and jars or that sell in bulk.

Use less Water
Taking a hot shower is heavenly but how long do you really need to be in there? Cutting down on your shower time will not only save water but will also get you out the door quicker. Double win!
Need to save water at the sink? When washing your face, soak a facecloth or sponge with water and turn off the tap. To further save water, don't let the tap run while brushing your teeth.

Replace disposable with reusable
Do you use wipes or cotton balls to remove your makeup? Switch them out for reusable pads which can be washed after a few uses. You can even go a step further and make your own out of old towels. Hint: Get all of the makeup stains off with a hypoallergenic pre-spray and laundry detergent.

Swap plastic disposables for more eco-friendly alternatives
Switch to bamboo toothbrushes and razors. These items are tricky to recycle and end up in the landfill.

Try multi-use products
Not only will it cut down on the items you purchase, but it'll also save on space and packaging. Look for multiuse products such as:
-primer/setting spray
-lip and cheek balm
-body wash/shaving cream
Or, make your own products such as:
-toothpaste
-dry shampoo
-deodorant
(WellnessMama has a ton of recipes for these!)
