It took forever to arrive this year, but spring weather is finally here! There's no better time to throw open your windows, embrace the fresh air and tackle your spring cleaning to-do list!
Not sure where to begin? No problem! We've compiled a list of some great spring cleaning ideas to get you started, and we've even made sure they fit an eco-friendly lifestyle for all of you who value green living.
The change from chilly days to warmer temperatures means that it's also time to switch over your wardrobe. While packing away your woolly sweaters and digging out your denim shorts, take the opportunity to purge your closet of any items that you no longer wear (same goes for shoes and outerwear!). Inside of tossing them in the garbage where they will sit in a landfill, consider donating them to charity. Or, if you'd like to make a bit of extra cash, list them online or hold a garage sale.

You're probably washing your sheets, pillowcases and covers on a regular basis, but it's also a good idea to give your duvet and pillows a clean now and again. Read the manufacturer's label and toss them in the washing machine with an eco-friendly detergent like Charlie's Soap. Hang them out on a clothesline or invest in a drying rack to avoid wasting energy from using the dryer. Good old sunshine works just fine and your clothes will smell nice and fresh!
While your bedding is in the washing machine, it's a great chance to whip out the vacuum and clean the crevices of your mattress, where dust, skin cells and dirt can accumulate. Yuck!
To deodorize your mattress, sprinkle baking soda all over and let it sit for thirty minutes. Vaccum it up and then flip the mattress and repeat the process.

Between leftovers, expired products and items hiding all the way at the back, your fridge could also use a deep clean. But before you throw everything into the garbage can, make sure you recycle any containers and, if possible, compost anything that can be. While all of your items are out of the fridge, wipe it down with a damp cloth both inside and out.
Another appliance that often gets overlooked is the oven. Instead of using the harsh chemicals of an oven cleaner, sprinkle some baking soda and a few drops of vinegar and then wipe away the grime with a sponge or cloth.
